If you read only one book on parenting, do yourself a favor and read this one. Read it several times. I read many good books each year on parenting and this one continues to be my top pick. Not only does it makes a lot of sense it also works.
Parenting Teens with Love and Logic, by Foster Cline, MD and Jim Fay.
Same approach with emphasis on teens. Excellent approach.
The Seven Principles for Making Marriage Work, by John M. Gottman, Ph.D.
This book goes way beyond theory. Gottman's work is based on empirical studies of why marriages succeed or fail. Solid, no fluff.
Divorce Busting, by Michelle Weiner-Davis.
She made her name with this book. A superb researcher, clinician and developer of Solution-Focused Therapy, this woman's specialty is bringing people back from the brink of divorce into more loving marriages.

Drawing will be held

monthly

beginning July 1, 2002 and each month thereafter until contest is revoked. One book will be awarded each month. The winner may select the title of their choice from the four titles offered. No purchase necessary. To enter, log on to bardos.net and enter as instructed. If unable to enter on-line you may enter by calling 801.369.2378 and leaving all of the required information to the left in person or on voice mail. By entering, consent is giving to receive periodic mailings from Bardos informing entrants of various services and workshops as they are offered. Entrants contact information will not be shared nor sold to outside sources or organizations. The drawing is currently only eligible for Utah residents. The monthly winner is responsible for picking up their book at Bardos Relationship Consulting's main office. Other arrangements for pickup or delivery of the book are at the discretion of Bardos. The winner will be notified by phone, email and/or mail within 14 days of the drawing. If the winner does not contact Bardos within 30 days of the drawing, the winner forfeits and a new winner will be selected. Written consent will be requested, though not required of the winner, for the winner to allow Bardos to use the winner's testimonials regarding this drawing and book received in their future marketing efforts. This is purely optional. Such information can be used with or without winner's name depending on the express wishes of the winner.
